The First Pet

I got a pet!  Her name is Diamond and she's a leopard gecko. Here's how I earned her: I have been trying to stop sucking my thumb so Mom bought me these things called "Thumbguards" but we call them thumb thingies.  I have to wear them at night and if I wore it all night long in the morning I got a sticker.  When I got a month full of stickers I earned a small pet!  (The rule was nothing with fur and no birds...b/c Mom and Dad are allergic (or so they say!).)  So I selected a gecko.  I saw that they make great pets on the Eastover news.  We went to PetsMart and picked her out...she's a little pink so we're saying she's a girl.  I love holding her and letting her climb on me.  And I help Mom feed her live crickets.  Yikes!
She's little ... won't grow more than 10 inches.

See how she loves to climb on me!

This is her rock. She loves to sit and hide under it.

Smile, Diamond! (She doesn't have teeth...just platelets.)

Happy 6th Birthday, Maddie!

Well, it's official. I'm six.  Yea, that's kind of a big deal.  I had a great birthday.  Danielle my godmother came to school with mom for lunch and recess, and they brought me Chick-Fil-A.  Then for my birthday dinner we went to "chips & dip" which is what Libby and I call the Mexican restaurant up the street.  I requested red velvet cake! Then I opened presents...I got a rainbow loom, a stuffed snake and some dolls from Libby.  It was a fun day.  And guess what! It's not over yet.  My party is on Saturday. We're going to do manis and pedis and then have cupcakes at a bakery!  I'll be back with pictures from the party!
My birthday breakfast...cinnamon rolls!

Me and Danielle at lunch.

I told Mom, "I'm six now.  I got this."

Halloween 2013

Oh my goodness...Halloween was so fun!  Right when I got off the school bus I ate a quick snack and then it was get in my costume time!  Mom helped us get our outfits on, our hair just right and then we put on our make up as the final touch.  I requested Cleopatra eyes and Libby really wanted pink hair and Mom did not disappoint!

We went to our neighborhood Trunk or Treat where we ate pizza and saw all our friends.  Then it was trick or treating time.  We went all around our block (only skipping the house that had a VERY scary haunted house on the porch.  I may be brave enough to try it next year.)  and our costumes were a big hit!

Close up of my "Cleopatra" eyes.

Isn't this costume beautiful?

Walk like an Egyptian dance...

The poodle (aka Libby Bella Pink Poodle) was not in a photo mood.

Ariana is a peacock...she's my best bud  at school.  Her sister Arlette came too!

Food time!

Libby's first smile of the night!

Nothing like a little sugar buzz and some "Purple People Eater" dancing.

Pumpkin Patch 2013

Mommy and I went to the Pumpkin Patch with my  preschool a few weeks ago.  Maddie was pretty sad to not come with us, but I told her she couldn't miss all the fun things she does in Kindergarten.  Anyway, it was kind of fun to get pumpkins just mom and me.  Plus I saw lots of my friends and some cool farm animals too! My favorite was the little "piggie" (a real one...not this pink one below!).

A PINK PIG!

I opted for a "baby" pumpkin.

Whoa, Whoa, I Gotta Go Back to School...Again!

For those of you that don't know that song, we can sing it for you now that Mom has been teaching us the songs from her childhood favorite movie Grease 2.  Coming soon, our rendition of Who's that Guy (a Mad-Lib favorite!).  Anyways, better late than never, here are our back to school pictures.

Maddie started Kindergarten at Eastover Elementary.  She has Ms. Bates who is a new teacher.  Maddie loves school and gets to ride the bus to/from school.

I started back to St. Johns Weekday School.  I'm in the 3's with Ms. Elizabeth and Ms Kristen.  I also have Ms. Elizabeth as a babysitter some afternoons.  We spend a lot of quality time together!

We are both loving school and learning lots!

Modeling her other uniform option.

The little sisters send the big sisters off to school in style!

Maddie and Hadley waiting for the bus.  Hadley is really that much taller than our petite Maddie!

Loving riding the bus!

Silly Face!

Maddie's Lemonade!

"Ice cold lemonade, get your ice cold lemonade!".  Yes, I had my very first lemonade stand on Sunday.  It was a big success.  I made $50!  All my friends from the 'hood stopped by.  We put our water slide up in the front yard too. I'm not sure if people came for the lemonade or the slide, but they came!
We baked sugar cookies. Yum!

Hard at work.

Oh, Libby. You cannot have ANOTHER cookie!

The business owner!

Kid's Triathlon

We did a triathlon this past weekend.  It was Maddie's 3rd time and I FINALLY got to do it this year! We got numbers written on our arms and legs.  Then we had to swim, bike and run.  We won!  (Or at least we got a super cool medal.)  Dad was in the pool with us, just in case, but we didn't need him.  Looking forward to doing more of these!
Isn't a double-5 better than just one!

I'm sporting Dad's lucky number.

See, I told you the medals were super cool!

Trip to Dallas

Mom is so behind in updating our blog.  But I guess that means we've been keeping her busy.  At the end of June we went to Dallas for Paw-Paw's retirement party and to visit our family. We saw everyone...Maw-Maw El, GG, Uncle Tim, Aunt Shay and Jack and of course Grandlin and Paw-Paw.  We swam in the pool almost everyday which was AWE-SOME.  We went to Safety Town, a cool museum, saw a movie (the one with those funny minions!) and lots more.   We can't wait to visit again next summer!

At the Perot Museum in Dallas.  It was super cool and we'd love to come back again and again!

Visiting Mom's college TCU.
Patriotic Face Painting!
Watch out!  Maddie's driving! (And she was pretty good at it.)
Posing with Super Frog!

Libby is riding the train at Frisco Freedom Fest.  Happy 4th of July!

The Beach - Kiawah Trip 2013

Oh the beach, the beach!  We love you so.  We had a wonderful family vacation to Kiawah Island again the last week of May.  We swam every day (we are excellent swimmers!), we went to the beach several times, played some golf and saw dolphins!  We were all sad to leave.  But there's always next year (unless we convince Mom and Dad to take us back in August before school starts!).
Maddie loves to be an artist and paint.

I love to swim.
On the Dolphin Encounters tour

I like wearing dad's sunglasses.

Look how close we were to dolphins!

I like digging on the beach.

Maddie perfected biking without training wheels and I chased her!

Scooters on a bridge are fun.

Having some ginger ale and pretzels and waiting for sunset (we weren't patient enough once we ran out of pretzels)

Family love!

Mom made us stop on the way out of Kiawah to see the "Angel Tree". It was pretty cool.

Bummer.  They wouldn't let us climb on the tree.

Here I am next to a big branch.
